Aids

prepare yourself.
You should prepare this formula sheet beforehand with any material you feel is
relevant.
No other aids are allowed, in particular no calculators.
Studying Suggestions
The lab questions assigned in this course
were designed to give you an opportunity to apply the concepts learned in
the lectures. For this reason, it is a good idea to review the questions you
had trouble with in the labs.
You can also try the recommended problems given in the course outline. These are particularly useful
if you need to review a particular area.
Look at the Old Exams for the
course. Note that material has shifted around a bit, so some things may be
covered in the final in certain years. Please note that the midterm and exam
from 2008 are missing.
How to use old tests
-
First try the labs and review any material you feel that you need to. While
doing this you can prepare your a first draft of your formula sheet.
-
Next try an old midterm, when you do this try doing it as if it was a real
midterm, in the time alloted with no breaks, no snacks, no books, except your
formula sheet. Note any things that you would have liked on your formula
sheet, and any questions that you are having trouble with.
-
Once you have done this go back and note the sections that you had trouble
with and concentrate on reviewing these. Update your formula sheet as you go.
-
Make sure that you can now answer all relevant questions on the old midterm.
-
Try again with a new old test.
Tutorial 6
Tutorial 6 will be a question and answer session for the midterm.
There is a homework assignment for Tutorial 6, but there will be no quiz and
you do not have to hand it in. Note that this tutorial covers material on the test.
