About
My full name is Daniel Nigussie Gashaw. I was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Coming from a large family of eight brothers and six sisters, my childhood was full of joy most of the time. My parents were educated citizens and encouraged us to focus on education and provide all the necessities to succeed in our studies. Being the youngest of my siblings, I always get extra attention, care, and love to become who I am today.
My educational background includes a BSc degree in Computer Engineering from Microlink IT College in Ethiopia, several certificates in programming languages, front-end web development, computer security, mobile application development, and data science courses. I am a third-year Computer Science student at Toronto Metropolitan University (former Ryerson University). I am also an active member of the Toronto Metropolitan University Data Science Association.
I am working on different projects, including server-side web programming with Java and Perl, Data Science programming with R, and Cyber Security. I also provide a free tutor for friends and colleagues and at CALC (City Adult Learning Center) to give back to the community, which helps me stand on my feet and make life transition in Canada much smoother
