CPS311 F2015 Midterm Test 2 Information

Notes Chapters 3, 4, 5 and 6 (UML 1-4), and material related to Assignment 3 can be on the test. UML history is not particularly relevant. There will be a Sequence Diagram to be constructed from a given Use Case. Do not deviate from what is specified in the Use Case; just follow along with what is given (do not introduce your own "interpretations" of what you think would be a better way of carrying out the Use Case as it has been set up to test several features). A small amount of Smalltalk relevant to boolean logic may be present as well.

Mainly multiple choice and the SD, but also a small amount of written Smalltalk potentially worth some marks. Note what questions are worth (all multiple choice questions are one mark, others as noted) and do not spend too much time on any one question; fill in your mark sense sheets as you go along - time cannot be allowed for that after you have decided upon all your test answers. Note that you will be leaving one scantron entry blank to accommodate the SD written question. Please be very careful to put down your pen/pencil immediately when the test end is announced.

The marks are NOT right-wrong so rational guessing is not discouraged.

You MUST write your name at the top of each page, in the space provided, for the test to be marked.

YOU MAY NOT HAVE ANY ELECTRONICS OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WATCHES and PHONES, AT YOUR DESK. Time will be posted regularly at the front of the room.

Tuesday Nov 17, 2015 8:10-9:00 AM. Please enter the room at about 8:00 when let in, quickly leaving coats and bags at the front of the room (have your student card, pens etc in hand before you enter the room). Find your scantron. You must be seated, silent, and ready to write by 8:05 with only your student card (face up and visible throughout the test), soft pencil(s) for the mark sense sheet with a soft eraser just in case, and a blue/black pen on your desk. The test will be distributed as soon as all are seated and absolutely quiet so your cooperation is appreciated. As regular classes follow in the test rooms, if you arrive or start late you can get NO extra time unfortunately.

If you arrive late, so that the test can be started in an orderly fashion, you will not be allowed to enter until 5 minutes after the test has started and you are given permission to enter by the invigilators. As just noted, there is not time for you to make up lost time, so please arrive by at least 7:55 AM.

The rooms will be the same as for the last test, but are repeated below. (In spite of repeated requests to know your rooms some students still managed to find their way into the wrong room for Midterm Test 1, in some cases losing test writing time. Take a minute and know your room, please.) Again, PLEASE DO NOT TALK TO OTHER STUDENTS AT ALL on your way into the test room or in the test room itself, and QUIETLY and QUICKLY FIND YOUR SEAT - we are VERY tight for time. Tnx.

At the end of the test remain seated and quiet until you are dismissed. This will occur a few minutes AFTER the last paper has been picked up, so do not get up or talk until dismissed.
